Being located on the spur of Mount Pleasant, part of an extinct volcano, this formed a cue for the design theme. A “river” of lava flowed through the site linking together the landscape elements of seating, rock walls, entrance feature, sandpit, retaining wall, pergola, shade structures and garden beds. The result of this work has created a successful, modern and safe outdoor place where an environment for social interaction and education has been enhanced.
